The perfectionist has spoken, and what he speaks really makes sense. Keeping away from the limelight for almost a year, here is Aamir Khan talking about his upcoming film- Dangal, his friendship with Salman, and of controversies that media needed an answer to.
Sultan releases this weekend, and that too is a story of a wrestler. Any similarities that you’ve noticed?
No, not that I’ve noticed. Wrestling is the only thing that is common in both the films. That way so many films are common, so many films are romantic films; so many films are image films… The genre of the film and the story is quite different, only wrestling is one common thing. But the trailer and the songs of Sultan that I've seen, I really love the way the director has shot it. It looks like a very exciting film, and I hope that it breaks the records.
Salman and you are really good friends. Recently he made a comment which created quite a stir, what do you have to say about it?
Well, I'm going by the media report since I wasn’t present there. But as per the media reports that I've read which quotes him of saying certain things, I feel what he said was rather unfortunate, and rather insensitive.
In Dangal you also have a younger look, but still you chose to release a poster with an older look and your four daughters. Why so?
In all my films I make a conscious effort to stay true to the script. There is also part of the film which required me to look young, but that is not the story of this film. The story of Dangal is about a father and his four daughters. It is about a family, about their relations, and about their emotions. The film is special to me because it gives out a very important message. It’s a story about relation of a father with his daughters. It’s about fighting all odds and coming out victorious.
