Singer Arijit Singh, who has crooned the most soulful music in the recent times, went through turmoil when a song he sang for Salman Khan starrer Sultan was deleted from the film. Apparently, as mentioned by him in an open letter addressed to Salman, the reason for this was that the normally big-hearted Khan got offended by a comment made by him. And while the banter happened between the two was in a light mood, it appears that Salman interpreted his behavior as an insult. The rift between the two dates back up to three years when it happened in an award show for which Salman and Ritesh Deshmukh were the hosts. Arijit who won an award for Aashiqui 2, went up to the stage to receive an award from Salman, and in the process he called Salman and Ritesh’s anchoring boring. Though this doesn't look like a reason enough, no other apparent reason has come to made thing clear.
On Tuesday Arijit shared an open letter to Salman, apologizing for his comments and requesting Salman to retain the song in Sultan. He in the apology letter he requested Salman to allow him to explain the misconception, and give more clarity to his cause. Apart from that Arijit also wrote about how much he loved Salman himself, and about being his fan.
The apology letter also states the various attempts the famous singer made to clarify his stand, but failed to do so every time. While not much is known about what transpired between the two, but for Arijit to take it to a social media platform to apologise sure speaks about the indifference in power distribution in the Bollywood industry.
Soon after his apology letter started receiving various responses, Arijit thought it was wiser to delete the post than anger Salman further. In a new post posted after that, he mentioned that his post would appear embarrassing for the superstar, but he couldn’t find a better way to reach out to the star.
Arijit though must have been successful in putting across his words, but his fans are disappointed for the fact that the apology letter looked more like desperation. The Twitter sort of had a battle between the Arijit’s followers and Salman fans, making this letter a through point of discussion. Whether the letter has reached to Salman or no is not known, but with the big heart that the star has Arijit will sure be forgiven. But till then the fate of the songs still lies with it makers.
