“Mom” holds a very very special place in bollywood. Mothers’ in bollywood have “Super-Moms”. Bollywood mommies emotional, dramatic, adorable, best friends (to their kids), she has magical powers (yes, whenever she prays to the almighty, even he listens to her), and last but not the least, she is the brilliant chef. Bollywood moms have also changed with times from Nirupa Roy to Kirron Kher. We all love the way mom have been portrayed bollywood, and why not our life revolves around our mother, doesn’t it? On the occasion on Mothers’ Day we have listed 5 of our favourite moms...
From Devdas to Khoobsurat, don’t we totally love Kirron-from the angry protective mother of Aishwarya to a super friendly mom to Sonam in Khoobsurat. Kirron Kher has been the most comically adored mom in bollywood. Kirron Kher is the perfect “loud” bollywood mom. She played a super loving mother to Rani Mukherjee in Hum Tum and equally embarrassed her with the puja thali in hand at the airport. And more recently didn’t we all love Manju in Khoobsurat…
Farida Jalal is the cutest mom in bollywood. She have always seen her as the mom who pampers and loves her kids, supports them under any which conditions and just wants them to be happy. Can we forget her in “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,” where she played the role of Shahrukh’s mom and little Anjali’s dadi. She also played a very very important role in reuniting Rahul (SRK) and Anjali (Kajol).
She was indeed a gorgeous actress who passed away at the age of 102. She played an adorable and sarcastic mom to Amitabh Bachchan Cheeni Kum and K3G. She was an example of the fact that age has nothing to do with living life to the fullest. And that is what she exactly did, she taught her 60 year old son (Amitabh Bachchan ) to live life to the fullest in Cheeni Kum. Until the very end she was full of energy.
When it comes to Ratna Pathak Shah, the first memory that is still fresh in our minds in “Maya Sarabhai.” She played the snobbish mother-in-law but a very adorable and protective mother to her sons. More recently we saw her play a royal mother to Fawad Khan ‘Khoobsurat’. While she was seen as a strict mom throughout the film but towards the end of the film, she coaxes him to go for his love (Sonam Kapoor).
