He is feared by some, and ridiculed by many more. Over the years due to his outlandish and often vulgar remarks on Twitter he has managed to gather a massive following. He claims to be the biggest film critic in the country and has a way with finding controversies. When Ajay Devgn sent out a press release last month accusing him of trying to sabotage Shivaay on social media, he did not sit silent either.
We spoke to Kamaal R Khan, better known as KRK, on why he thinks Bollywood believes in double standards. He also spoke about his Dubai connection.
Why are you so angry with Bollywood these days?
Not at all! I am not angry with Bollywood. But then some people are trying to use me for their own gains, by making me a scapegoat, firing at someone else from my shoulder, I object to that.
In that particular audio clip, why did you mention Karan Johar has provided you money at all?
It was just off the hook. Sometimes you may have also been in situations when some friends corner you into something. And in an attempt to escape you just utter a lie. Here Kumar Mangat is a close friend and I could not tell him to get lost. So I just blurted that Karan has offered me money to promote his film. If you have listened to the clip you must have seen that I kept trying to tell him for three minutes that I am not really favouring Karan’s film. I was not posting anything against Shivaay.
You claim to have a lot of friends in Bollywood. Why does it so happen that so many celebs actually have spoken against you or dislike you?
That’s because everyone wants me to speak good about his or her film. Now if I start doing that, it would mean that I am cheating the public. I always talk to the point – good or bad.
Do you think Bollywood celebs have double standards?
Everyone in Bollywood believes that you should just praise their work. Never speak badly about what they do, irrespective of what they do is good or bad.
