Shah Rukh Khan

Kamal Rashid Khan has made himself known for all the reasons wrong. Making obnoxious comments on actresses or making statements on filmmakers’ personal lives, KRK has always been outright disrespectful while talking about the industry. And so he did when he made a personal remark on Vikram Bhatt and Meera Chopra in his review of 1920 London. He further went on to rant on Twitter about Vikram, until Vikram finally chose to file a defamation case against him. But what really highlights the Vikram and KRK’s tiff is an open letter that Vikram posted on his Facebook. He posted the line of events, and made powerful statements about how his silence proved to be a fodder for more such rumours to spread.
But before we move on to the letter, here is a timeline as to what transpired this legal battle:
The fight that once looked liked a Twitter rant, has blown out of proportion and will now be fought legally. It all started with a sarcastic tweet KRK posted about Vikram Bhatt’s directorial Love Games. And it is to that tweet Vikram replied with an even more sarcastic comment that led to what is a legal battle today. And while we thought that it would stop to a Twitter rant, KRK’s review on 1920 London is what irked Vikram to no extend.
Kamal R. Khan is known to outrageous when it comes to reviewing a Box Office relase on his YouTube channel. Similar was the case when he reviewed Meera Chopra and Sharman Joshi starrer 1920 London. The film’s story is penned down by Vikram Bhatt, and instead of directing the film himself Vikram chose Tinu Suresh Desai to direct the film. The film didn’t do well, and all the critics called it a dud. But one review that specifically irked Vikram was the review done by KRK. KRK made personal remarks on the actress Meera Chopra and Vikram, and spoke about how the actress through wrong measures got into the film industry. There was no stopping to KRK when it came to talking about Vikram’s personal life, he even went on to talk about the many actresses who were allegedly involved with Vikram previously.
KRK in his review of 1920 London said a lot of repugnant things against Meera and Vikram, this ultimately led Vikram to file a defamation case against KRK. The review, as Vikram mentioned was not about the film but where rather personal remarks made by KRK on Meera and Vikram.
While Vikram chose to take legal measures against KRK, KRK again went on to rant about the defamation case filed against him. KRK did not respond to the notice sent to him, and instead made an official statement saying, “As a critic I have the right to say what I want about a film. If filmmakers start getting offended, everyone will start sending us notices.” He just didn’t stop there and kept on tweeting about Vikram and his upcoming film Raaz Reboot. He led the fight with a series of tweet, also resorting to foul language to vent his anger.
While KRK stated that Meera herself had spoken to him about her and Vikram association, Meera who first chose to keep away has finally spoken up. She said, “In regards to the recent insinuations by Mr. Kamaal R Khan on Twitter about my colleague Mr. Vikram Bhatt and me, I have only the following statement to make; I have no friendship with Mr. Khan beyond a passing acquaintance and certainly do not confide in him about my personal and professional matters. Further, his tweets that claim that I am a source of any kind of information to him are a falsehood. I am saddened because every person has emotional stakeholders in their lives in the form of their parents, relatives and friends, so when this kind of malicious rumor is perpetrated it only causes much grief to everyone involved and not just to the individual who is a victim to such gossip. Having said this, I shall leave my fight to my colleague Mr. Vikram Bhatt and my esteemed lawyer Mr. Rizwan Siddiqui. I will trust them to speak for me."
Vikram wrong a longish letter on his Facebook page about the ongoing tiff between him and KRK. His letter spoke about how he chose not to respond, but his silence rather provided as the fodder for people who spread rumours. To make his stand clear, Vikram even posted a few absurd tweets that KRK had made on the leading ladies of Bollywood. Her further stated that while we find Salman’s rape remark disrespectful, why haven’t we as people opposed KRK who has certainly made a lot many of such remarks.
