Salman Khan is a man of the masses, absolutely loved and adored by his fans. Nothing over the period of so many years has affected the love that people have for him. And Salman too has never disappointed his fans when it comes to entertaining the audiences in theatre. And rightfully so Salman for years has been releasing his films on the auspicious occasion of Eid. His fans are overwhelmed. Call it a business strategy or Salman’s connect with the masses, everything works in line only on the entertainment aspects of the film.
Sultan was to release on the occasion of Eid, which was predicted to be July 6, but with Eid now on July 7 one thought that the film will sure lose some business. The movie, trade analyst believed would break the records to become the highest grosser this year. Well rightfully so, the film has had a massive first day collection which amounts to 36.54 crores. With the pre-Eid collection amounting to this, people are looking forward as to how much the film will collect over the weekend. What sets apart Sultan’s first day collection is that the film released on a non holiday, and still has managed to earn above 35 crores as compared to many films who have opened on holidays.
The film was predicted to make at least 40 crores on the first day of its release. Having said that, Sultan still didn’t face loss as even though it released one day before Eid, there was no stopping to Salman Khan fans when it came to watching the film’s first day first show. And today, on the occasion of Eid, as the trade analysts believe, the film will collect even more than the predicted 40 crores.
Follo asked Trade Analyst Atul Mohan on what will be Sultan’s collection over the weekend, he said, “The film over the weekend is predicted to collect approximately 175 crores.” He further added that the opening day collections of the film were not at all disappointing, and the film will run houseful in theatres over the weekend.
Talking on whether the film will be the highest grosser over the many years, Atul opined “Yes, definitely. It is predicted to be the highest grosser and since the people have loved the film, Sultan might outdo Salman’s own previous collections at the Box Office.” He continued, “The movie will not only be Salman’s biggest grosser, but it will also be Yash Raj Film’s biggest, and the year’s biggest grosser.” The film is predicted to break PK’s record and collect more than 300 crores as the film has released in more than 4000 screens and is also doing well overseas.
