Before your excitement level hits the stratosphere hear us out, or rather hear Shah Rukh Khan out as the actor dropped hints regarding in a recent interview of his.
The Raees actor shared that his biggest dream is to make a film on Mahabharat that's as big as SS Rajamouli's magnum opus, the Baahubali series, but he can't afford it (ya, right).
In his interview with a leading daily, the actor, while talking about Salman Khan's collaboration with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions for a film which will have Akshay Kumar as a hero, shared - "It should have been done a long time back. But it's very good that Karan and Salman are making a film with Akshay. I wanted to do that. But the story and all didn't work out. I'm sure he is really open to it. I think whenever there is an opportunity, as producers, we should make this happen."
It's only when he made the following statement that he got us thinking that the Khiladi actor could make his way into SRK's dream project.
The 52-year-old actor went on to speak at length about his ultimate dream for his Red Chillies production, wherein he said - "It's my dream to make the Mahabharat for the screen. It's been for years now. But I don't think I have the budget to do that. Unless I collaborate. This one has to go out into the international markets. So you have to collaborate with someone who's international. You don't take up a subject like the Mahabharat and make it any less. It should be on the scale of a Baahubali or an even larger one."
It would be a treat to watch the 'Jolly LLB' actor, Akshay Kumar, who just bagged the coveted National Award for 'Rustom', in SRK's dream project, provided it's realized. If it does, what waits to be seen is if it would overshadow Baahubali's success?
