Sultan is a story of Sultan Ali Khan – a local wrestling champion with the world at his feet as he dreams of representing India at the Olympics. The path to glory is a rocky one and one must fall several times before one stands victorious – More often than not, this journey can take a lifetime.
Audience vs Critic
Sultan got the best opening of 2016. What else can be expected from a Salman Khan film!? The critics did not entirely hate the film either. The film’s subject and treatment was appreciated.
Script & Plot
The script and plot was kept quite real for the film and the story took the audience through the highs and lows of Salman’s character. The plot was tightly knit and did not leave the audience bored anywhere.
Salman Khan went through a lot of preparation to look like a wrestler and his performance in the film is quite impressive. He also nailed the accent! Anushka Sharma pulled off some mean wrestling stunts in the film. The supporting cast did a great job too.
Sultan’s music is everything you can expect a Salman Khan movie’s music to be. The songs were catchy with high energy, along with some slow romantic ones. Vishal Shekhar did a good job in maintaining the rhythm of the film and keep the music earthy.
